Plug positioning control for vertical continuous casting
For a continuous, low-turbulence casting process
with a vertical or horizontal continuous casting
plant, Carli Precimeter GmbH has developed
an electric motor-driven plug control.
The system is based on a balance principle,
in which the centre point of the balance
can be variably adjusted to allow adaptation
to different speeds in the casting process.
The plug control consists of a probe to
sense the level, a drive and a control unit.
